The ethos of my camps; CREATE, HAVE FUN and PLAY
-
Process art and focused art
I am passionate about process art…. the focus being on enjoying the PROCESS of creating and not the outcome. It’s so wonderful to get lost in the state of ‘flow’ happily exploring and learning… the ultimate mindful activity. However I do also think that a focused art project is hugely important for children too. Through focused art activities children can acquire new art skills and create something they wouldn’t have been able to do independently.
At my camps there will always be a mix of the two types of art for your kids to enjoy.
-
Yoga
There is always an hour long yoga class each day for the children to attend. These classes cover mindfulness, movement and relaxation in fun and engaging ways for children. Storytelling, music, games and partner work feature heavily in my classes. The yoga is accessible for all and there is always lots of encouragement for children to continue practicing yoga throughout the day utilising props and accessories such as yoga cards, massage tools, wishing blankets and much more.
-

Play
Open ended play fills in the gaps between yoga and art. I very much reside with the Montessori theory, that play is seen as the fundamental work of a child, a vital process for learning and development.
It's a purposeful activity where children explore their environment, develop skills, and express themselves, all while engaging in activities they find enjoyable. Throughout the day we also offer group games, singing rhyme games and parachute games for children to take part in if they wish.

My child loves Laura's Yoga Camps! They have lots of fun! enjoy the different activities and are always eager to go back! I feel comfortable leaving them at the camp with Laura and her colleagues as they so clearly enjoy being there. Also, Laura has definitely inspired them both as they have been practising their new yoga poses, and singing the songs they have learnt at home, thank you Laura! here

My son has only been to a few holiday clubs having just finished his reception year, but Laura’s yoga is his favourite and the only one he had asked to return to. He comes out and I can see he is buzzing, plus he is covered in the most wonderful face paint and laden with super imaginative creations! Laura obviously puts in so much creative effort to make the club different from others and my son gets so much enjoyment from it.
